One of the great things about the new smoking ban in Britain is that I can go out in the evening and in the morning find my clothes are still wearable, rather than coated in a layer of stinky tobacco smoke.

But every time I do this, I find my clothes do smell, but not strongly and not of tobacco. The smell is always the same smell (unless it's the obvious smell of dried spilled beer) but I have no idea what it is.

Any ideas?
