£2 Coin - How Long Till We Get It?
Mon 28th May 2007, 10.50 pm
We've had a £2 coin in Britain now for nearly nine years. I know it's just about the most pointless coin in the world, but nevertheless that is a long time to get used to it.
And yet still a huge number of machines won't take it, or claim to take it but seem to have a lot of trouble accepting the coins.
Sometimes this can work in one's favour, of course. Today we paid for our car parking ticket at the cinema with a £2 coin. The machine printed the barcode on the ticket to let us out of the car park and then politely returned our £2 coin to us. Somehow I doubt any other coin would have had the same effect.

Goodness, you know you're getting old and boring when you blog about the same subject twice!
